El-Shaddai Covenant Ministries was established on the 26th of October, 1986 in the city of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria by Dr. James Ovbiose James with a mandate to build a people zealous for God who will make heaven.

The purpose of El-Shaddai Covenant Ministries is to “build lives together”. It has a vision of:

“Responding to God;

Reaching People;

Reinforcing Relationships;

Raising Leaders and

Realizing Destinies”.


The Mission Statement is to “Minister salvation to mankind; adopt people into God’s family; help them develop healthy relationships with one another; train converts to spiritual maturity and empower believers to realize their destinies to the praise and honour of God.”

The dynamic teaching ministry of Dr. James has not only impacted the lives of thousands across the globe but has also produced many Christian leaders who are making waves in various spheres of Christendom.

Through the help of God and a lifestyle of hard work, commitment and integrity, Dr. James has grown the ministry from humble beginnings to over 23 branches in several cities scattered around 3 geo-political zones of Nigeria as well as an International Branch in the United Kingdom.

Dr. James teaches copiously on the Marriage Institution and other topical Christian issues and has written several books and publication on the subject of marriage. Presently, he anchors a weekly Facebook Live outreach, especially in a Facebook Closed Group – 360 Marriage Academy (www.360marriageacademy.com).

He has also featured as a Minister on Radio and Television, reaching people on such stations as Believe TV (MyTV); Kingdom Africa (DSTV); ACBN (MyTV) and Bond FM.

Dr. J. O. James, a Quantity Surveyor by training is married to and ably assisted by Dr. Temitayo James, a Medical Doctor by profession. She is the promoter/initiator of Jim Paul Generation Next Initiative, an NGO focusing on services targeted at the health and educational development of Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) in Africa. They are blessed with 3 children and a grandson.
